Huts around Mt Stirling – 11th to 12th April 2026


Join Roger and Club 4×4 for an awesome trip exploring the area around Mt Stirling including Craigs Hut, Tomahawk Hut, Pineapple Flat and a drive up the King River Tk to Bindaree Hut and Falls.

This is an Easy/Medium trip suitable for anyone who wants a relaxing weekend and to do a little site seeing.

Trip Overview
Location:Mansfield Sate Forest & Mt Stirling area
Location and/or Description of Trip (Itinerary):

Travel through Mansfield State Forest, (visit Tomahawk Hut), ascend to the Stirling Circuit via No3 Road, side trip to Craigs Hut (the one from "Man from the Snowy River"). Then descent to King River and camp at Pineapple Flats.
Sunday will exit via multiple crossings of the King River to Speculation Rd. Then detour to view Bindaree Falls and then Bindaree Hut, also visit Upper Howqua CA. Exit via Stirling Circuit Rd, to Mt Buller via Corn Hill Track (if open - was closed as at 21 Feb 26). If closed on to TBJ and Mirimbah.

Finish Location:Mirimbah Park Mt Buller Rd
Brief directions to meeting point:

Carters Road Day Picnic Area carpark - turn left after Sawmill Settlement off the Mt Buller Road, cross Delatite River, carpark on the left
