Values are not always apparent in the Club purpose and the rules. Values represent ‘what kind of club we want to be?’ and ‘what we want our Club to be known for’. Values describe the characteristics of the Club.
Values guide decisions, practices and behaviour. When there is conflict or tension in a Club, it is often because members are holding different values.
These Club Values can only be changed by Special Resolution of members.
1. The Club is friendly & inclusive:
All members are made to feel welcome, regardless of driving competency, age, gender or race. Families are welcome. The Club ensures members get to know each.
2. The Club encourages participation:
The Club ensures there are plenty of trips for everyone, and all members participate in Club activities. On trips, participants work as team to ensure everyone’s enjoyment. Members have lots of opportunities to voice their opinions about Club activities and future direction. Committee decisions are transparent.
3. The Club respects the environment:
Participants on Club trips minimise environmental impact as much as possible, eg respecting flora and fauna, keeping to formed tracks and using minimum impact driving techniques, removing rubbish, having a well maintained vehicle with minimum exhaust fumes, and using low impact camping practices.
4. The Club has an excellent reputation:
We can be proud of our Club. The Club reviews its practices regularly to ensure member satisfaction. The Club is well known as a good Club. Sponsors and potential sponsors are happy to be associated with our Club.
