Club 4x4 Trip Notice
Trip Location
Location:Alpine National Park
Location and/or Description of Trip (Itinerary):

We will drive from Longwarry to Licola on Friday and camp in some of the grounds nearby. Saturday will be spent driving East through Mount Margaret, Chromite and B1 tracks to the Moroka Road. We will take a detour to visit Millers Hut (gateway to Lake Tali Karng walking track, which we will ignore) and The Sentinels. We will return to the main road and continue our drive to Horseyard Flat. Depending on conditions and timing we may either overnight there or continue down Billy goat track to the Wonnangatta valley to camp in Black Snake Ck or some of the other sites in the area. On Sunday we will drive some of the tracks north of the Wonnangatta valley before heading for Dargo and lunch, where the trip will conclude.

As the trip is early in the season, it will be largely exploratory; specific route and timing will be adapted to weather and track conditions.

The first campsite will probably have toilets, the second is less certain. It will be cold at night. Be prepared.

Full tank of fuel, recovery gear and AT or MT tyres required.
