Jamieson to Marysville – September 2019

Location and/or Description of Trip (Itinerary):

We will make our way from Jamieson to Marysville through the Big River State Forest.

Starting at BP Mansfield on Saturday, will wind our south through Jamieson to Mt Terrible, and take in tracks such as Ryan Spur Track, Corn Hill Track, Monument Creek Track and Frenchman’s Spur Track. We will camp at Frenchman’s Creek on the Saturday night. Then on Sunday we will choose a few tracks to wind our way back up to Big River road and onto Marysville-Woods Point Road, going into Marysville for lunch.

Tracks should be relatively easy, but having never done them before, there could be some surprises.

Head into Mansfield and the BP is on the other side of town heading to Mt Buller.

Recovery gear and rated recovery points as per the club rules.

All terrain or mud tyres a must due to the season and also the steep and loose terrain.

There will be facilities at the campsite. Please bring enough food, water, camping equipment and fuel for 2 full days of driving in the High Country.

Weather in the High Country can change quickly, so please check the weather and dress appropriately.
