Second club meeting of the year. We’ll do the usual Club update from the President, have a chat about UHF radios and convoy procedures, plan a few trips, have a chat about tracks we’ve been on recently, present the results of the recent Club Survey and have a chat about anything related to the club in the Open Forum.
Date: Monday 20th March 2017
Time: 7:15pm (6:45pm for pre-meeting drinks)
Meeting Agenda:
Join Brenton and Club 4×4 on an exploratory trip to Noojee. Taking in some of the scenery around the southern parts of the High Country near Mt Baw Baw, this trip will be catered and graded depending upon those booked.
The plan will be to venture to Noojee Trestle Bridge early on Saturday morning and explore some of the tracks in the area before getting into camp on Saturday night. From there, Sunday will be more tracks in the area and difficulty rating will be based upon those booked on the trip. We may stop for lunch at the local on the way home on Sunday if participants are interested.

Join Richard and Club 4×4 on an exciting adventure to the infamous Ellis Track. Ellis track has a well deserved reputation as one of the most challenging tracks in Victoria nee Australia (http://blog.mud-maps.com/blog/2013/category/australias-most-difficult-4wd-track) . This trip is not for the faint of heart and only those members with well setup rigs and experience should book.
The plan will be to attack Ellis track (which should take all morning at least), then we will cruise around checking out some of the local tracks.
Note that if it raining that the trip may be completely changed. The track is very difficult in the dry; in the wet it is virtually impassable without damage. Still meet at identified location and conditions will be evaluated. There are plenty of other tracks in the area, but nothing so challenging.
Join Arron and Club 4×4 on a winter wonderland trip to Mt Blue Rag. What a better time to go and visit one of the iconic tracks in our High Country than in Winter (well close enough!) before the closures set in.
The plan will be to venture to Bright on Friday night and stay in the vicinity before heading to Mt Blue Rag on Saturday. We will then take in some tracks to the west of Harrietville and camp in the Buckland Valley. On Sunday we will check out some tracks in the Buckland before heading home. Should be a cold, but enjoyable weekend.

Join Ian and Club 4×4 in a relaxing and peaceful weekend to Top Crossing Hut. As the title suggests, if you wish to go for day trips out from camp, feel free to do so; conversely, if you feel like lounging around taking in the scenery, this is appropriate too. There are always plenty of fish to catch not too far away at Lake William Hovell as well.
Departing on Friday evening, the plan will be to meet at Mansfield then venture into Top Crossing Hut, crossing the King River a few times before getting into the secluded campsite. From there, it is make it up as you go, the relaxing the better.
Join Brenton and Club 4×4 in dusting off the high beams and tackling the mud and clay of Toolangi at night. The Toolangi Night run is a different way of 4wding and if you haven’t experienced 4wding at night, this is the best trip to do.
Join Brenton and Club 4×4 for the annual navigational activity, the Club 4×4 Geo. This year’s Geo will be held in the Rubicon State Forest and will take in some great scenery.
The aim of the Geo is to drive to a series of waypoints, collecting clues in an Amazing Race type format. It requires a good GPS (to enter the waypoints), problem solving skills, a great driver and is a lot of fun.
It’s the start of a new Club year and we’re wondering if you’ve been in the mud lately or keeping it nice and clean, either way bring it to the

Meeting Agenda:
Join Rob and Club 4×4 in an exploratory venture into Big River and the beautiful middle High Country taking in Frenchmans Creek and Woods Point.
Departing early on Saturday, the plan will be to meet at Marysville Bakery for breakfast then venture into the Big River State Forest for the weekend before popping out to the east at Woods Point (Trip area). Trip will start and finish at Marysville and the exploratory nature of the trip means we don’t know what’s in store grading wise, but the views will be amazing!
