Location and/or Description of Trip (Itinerary): | Leaving Melbourne on Tuesday the 31st of march. Allowing for around 12 hours driving a day to arrive on the island Thursday morning. Six nights and seven days on the island leaving on Wednesday the 8th. Everyone is welcome to make their own way there and back at there own pace, as 12 hours driving a day may be to much for some. The two nights travelling up and back will most likely will be staying in a hotel along the way somewhere. The 6-7 days on the island will be a mix of group trip days and days to do your own thing if you please. We will be staying at Cathedrals on Fraser, they have a few cabins left, powered sites and permanent tents available but will book out fast so please make your booking ASAP to avoid disappointment. All services , food and water, fuel etc is available at cathedrals (at a high cost I'm guessing) so please get plenty of supplies before you hit the island. Any specific requirements? | It's about 2000kms before you get to the ferry to get to the island. Your car must be in good working order to get there safely. The main part of the driving on the island will be sand and beach driving so all terrains will be more suited than a mud terrain. Winch. Recovery gear. Max trax. Fishing rods and tackle if your into that. All camp and cooking gear depending on the accommodation you choose. |
