Join Mark and Club 4×4 to explore the far remote sections of the North Simpson Desert via the Hay River Track, and hopefully the Madigan Line Camp 15 to Camp 23. This will be an amazing trip through some very remote parts of the Simpson Desert.
Booking Procedure:
For this trip the Club will be taking “Expression of Interest” bookings so that we can gauge how many people are interested in going on the trip. If you are interested put in a booking and Mark will organise a catchup early 2025 to chat about the Trip.
Mark has set a maximum of 8 vehicles for the Trip but we will allow more EOI bookings and sort out what happens if we have more than 8 vehicles interested in coming along.

| Location and/or Description of Trip (Itinerary): | This trip will explore the far remote sections of the North Simpson Desert via the Hay River Track, and hopefully the Madigan Line camp 15 to camp 23 - Weather and permits permitting. The trip will start in Alice Springs, heading to Jervois Roadhouse for our last fuel stop before heading down Hay River Track for Batton Hill Camp, we will head south down Hay River Track, detouring to Lake Caroline, we will continue down to Poeppel Corner before back tracking to the Madigan Line (if permits or weather don't allow we will take the QAA line to Birdsville instead), we will take the Madigan Line down to the QAA line into Birdsville via Big Red. The trip distance from Jervois Roadhouse to Birdsville will be around 1,000km of sand driving with no services. Due to the extensive planning required for this trip, bookings/registration of interest will close in Late January 2025. If you have any queries about this trip please contact the Trip Leader. |

| Any specific requirements? | All vehicles will need to be properly prepared as this trip is extremely isolated. 1,000km between fuel stops. Spare parts will need to be carried between the vehicles and enough food and water for approx. 8 days for the crossing, plus reserves. There is no Fuel or water between Jervois Roadhouse and Birdsville. Birdsville Recovery Service is available for all but about the first 300km or so of the trip. Spares will be required to be carried. More information will be provided once bookings have been finalised. A number of Permits will need to be organised including a Hay River Permit ($240 PER VEHICLE), CLC Entry Permit (free), as well as a Permit for the Madigan Line on private property.
