Location and/or Description of Trip (Itinerary): | Join Jose and re-trace the route led by Arron two years ago through several of the most iconic tracks of the High Country. Departing on Friday evening, we will head to AH Youngs or Shippens Flat in the Buckland Valley near Bright. On Saturday we will climb Mt Blue Rag and Mt Murray. Trekking down Basalt Knob toward Talbotville will take us through a very steep, loose section of track heading into the camp at Eaglevale, where we will stay for the night. Sunday will be a more cruisy day with the trip finishing somewhere on the Dargo High Plains road. This trip will have a big day of driving on Saturday on some steep, loose tracks; so it takes a really well prepared vehicle. |

Trip Planning: | This is an exploratory trip based on some local knowledge and/or online research of track conditions |
Maximum number of vehicles permitted: | 8 |
Any specific requirements? | Recovery gear and rated recovery points as per the club rules. All terrain or mud tyres a must due to the steep and loose terrain as is a snorkel because of river crossings. Driver experience is crucial as we are driving some of the steepest tracks in Australia. There will be facilities at both campsites and hopefully they won't be busy. Please bring enough food, water, camping equipment and fuel for 2 full days of driving in the High Country. Check the weather and dress appropriately. |
