EVERYONE on a club trip must be registered as a General Member, Temporary Member or Junior Member.
Membership categories are summaries below. A list of the rights and privileges for each membership category can be found here.
General Member
Means an adult (over 18 years of age) who is registered as a General Member (i.e. application has been accepted by the committee, and all fees are paid) and who may take advantage of the rights and privileges of General Members as described in the Club Rules. General Members may also register a spouse as a General Member and children as Junior Members.
Junior Member
Means a child of an adult Member (General or Temporary Member), under 25 years of age, and who is registered as a Junior Member on the Register of Members and is living at home, studying full time (completing a registered apprenticeship/traineeship/Uni degree). Junior Members are able to attend trips in their Parent or Guardian’s vehicle as either a passenger or driver as long as the Parent or Guardian is present. Proof of ‘studying full time’ and living at home may be required by the club.
Temporary Member (Prospective Member)
Means an adult (and their significant other) who is considering or intending to join as a General Member and who would like to drive their own vehicle on a Club Trip (maximum two trips). These Members have limited privileges and cannot reapply for Prospective Membership.
Temporary Member (Visitor)
Means an adult (and their significant other), invited by a General Member to attend a Club Trip or event (maximum two per financial year). A Visitor may be a passenger in the General Member’s vehicle but cannot drive. These Members have limited privileges but can re-apply the following financial year.
Temporary Member (Complimentary)
By invitation of the Committee only, usually reserved for Sponsors. These Members have limited privileges.
Temporary Member (Guest)
By invitation of the Committee only. These Members have limited privileges.
