OZD in Nunniong and Beyond – 23rd to 26th Jan 2026

Join Jose and Club 4×4 on the whatever-you-want-to-call-it-Day long weekend for a classic Club Trip from the Great Alpine Road through the Nunniong State Forest and beyond. This is a surprisingly little-visited area, to the point that if you Google “Nunniong SF” several of the top hits are the club trips led by El Presidente! So don’t stay in the dark any longer and join the discoverers’ club.

This is intended to be a “slow does it” trip avoiding the harder tracks that we have enjoyed in previous years, especially as the tracks are expected to be dry. Jose will be leading in his truck and there is a chance some extra track-clearing may be necessary. Bring “Passenger Patience” with you. The trip is suitable for less-experienced drivers.

Old Telegraph Track Esperance to Cocklebiddy WA – 27th Nov – 7th Dec 2025

Join Tony, Em and Club 4×4 on the “Old Telegraph Track” from Esperance to the Eyre Bird Observatory from the 27 Nov 2025 to 7 Dec 2025.

This is an amazing trip through a very remote and beautiful part of Australia.

This trip is taking place in about 6 months and there is a lot of planning to do. We will be running the bookings for the Trip using the “Expression of Interest” system as we do for all longer trips like this. This allows the Trip Leaders and the Club to gauge how many people are interested prior to more detailed planning happening. Once we have an initial number or interested parties Tony and Em will organise information and planning sessions. Tony and Em would like to take a max of 4 vehicles on this trip.

A little History from the article below:

“In the late 1800s telegraph was a new technology transforming the speed at which people could communicate, but 1200 kilometres of harsh country stood in the way of a link between WA and the rest of Australia. Work began in 1875 to connect existing stations at Albany and Port Augusta. It was an epic task. For three years men on packhorse battled through rough mallee scrub, sandhill country, and waterless cliffs, erecting timber bush poles and running a single strand of galvanised iron wire between repeater stations.  They followed a vague route made only a few years earlier by Edward Eyre, the first European explorer to cross the Nullarbor. Today the stretch of Old Telegraph Line between Esperance and Cocklebiddy is a 500 kilometre four-wheel-drive trail. It runs along some of WA’s most remote coast. Following the line is not an easy journey, but for experienced and well-equipped travellers it follows an incredible story through some of Australia’s most raw and beautiful country.”

The Canning Ball Run- 28th July – 11th August 2026

Join Mark, Clint and Club 4×4 for an epic run up the Canning Stock Route. This will be an awesome trip travelling through some of the remotest parts of Australia.

This trip is planned to take place next year and while it’s 13 months away there is a lot of planning to do. We will be running the bookings for the Trip using the “Expression of Interest” system as we do for all longer trips like this. This allows the Trip Leaders and the Club to gauge how many people are interested prior to more detailed planning happening. Once we have an initial number or interested parties Clint and Mark will start some information and planning sessions.

A brief History:

The Canning Stock Route (CSR) is a 1,850-kilometer (1,150-mile) historic track in Western Australia, stretching from Halls Creek to Wiluna. It was originally developed in the early 1900s by surveyor Alfred Canning to enable cattle droving from the Kimberley region to southern markets. The route is renowned for its remoteness and challenging terrain, making it a popular but demanding destination for experienced four-wheel-drive adventurers.
