Join Ralf and Clint for an Aussie long week end trip with a twist!
You will get a choice of adding an iconic High County walk to your 4WD weekend!
We will meet up at the Longwarry Ampol Hungry Jacks on Friday morning, before making our way north on Lincoln Rd. We’ll then tackle the eastern section of Burgoyne Track, head up Mt Margaret Track, Chromite Mine, B1 and B2 Track, up towards Moroka Rd.
The last track of the day will be Mt Wellington, with magnificent 360 deg views of the high country. We will end up at Billy Button Bush Camp / Millers Hut, where we will base camp for 2 nights.

And here comes the twist!
On Sat you’ll get the choice of joining Ralf do to a walk for the day.
We will hike to Lake Tali Karng, an 8-9km round trip with apparently steep sections. Pack a lunch and enough water, as well as appropriate food wear and your swimmers! Should be a fantastic day. I’ve been wanting to cross this off my bucket list for a while :-). Parks Victoria told me it can easily be done in a day with leisure time at the lake!
Tali Karng is a hidden jewel nestled deep in the mountains of Gippsland, fed by snowmelt waters of the Wellington Plains. The lake is believed to have been formed about 1500 years ago when a massive rock slide collapsed into the valley damming the waters of Nigothoruk Creek above Wellington River. The water runs underground from the lake to emerge as the infant Wellington River 150m below in the Valley of Destruction.

….or you can join Clint for an awesome day of 4WDing in the area.
Mount Kent as well as Billy Goat Track are well within reach 🙂

We’ll spend the second night at camp and head out on Sunday morning via Old Moroka Rd. Time and willingness, a couple of tracks on the way out and finishing the trip around Briagalong somewhere.
