Location:Cobaw SF
Location and/or Description of Trip (Itinerary):

A winter day trip heading out to Cobaw State Forest, near Lancefield, only an hour or so from home. This trip is not for the faint of heart. There are very technical sections, deep ruts and plenty of rockclimbing to be had. It will require not only a great deal of concentration, but also a well set up vehicle and knowledge on how to handle these types of tracks. Having run this trip around the same time last year, we will only manage to cover 30kms, but it will take 6 hours

Trip Details
Trip Rating:Very Difficult
Trip Planning:Planning based on a recent reconnaissance trip
Maximum number of vehicles permitted:7
Any specific requirements?

Vehicles with high clearance (2 inch plus) and articulation, aggressive All Terrain tyres/Mud Terrain tyres, experienced drivers. All recovery gear and winches preferable as are traction aides or lockers. There are chicken tracks around some obstacles, but these tracks will challenge the most experienced of drivers.

You will lift wheels - unavoidable. High risk of damage if incorrect lines taken - but don't let that scare you off. There are plenty of experienced drivers willing to guide and assist.
